• Your letter may be answered on video, rewritten with your name and details changed. It is never sold, shared or used to train anything.
• We delete the letter as you wrote it 90 days after Loretta answers it, or after 180 days if she doesn't. We keep only the rewritten version.
• If you ask for the free guide, we send you the guide and Loretta's Sunday letter until you unsubscribe.
• Payhip handles purchases. We never see your card.
• We don't set cookies, show ads or use tracking pixels.
• Dear Loretta is for adults 18 and older.

Letters

What we collect. When you write to Loretta, on the Write to Loretta page or by email to letters@dearloretta.com, we get your letter, the name you sign it with, your email address if you give one, your answers to the two boxes (that you're 18 or older, and that Loretta may answer on video), and the time you sent it. A letter sent by email also comes with your email address and the details your email service adds to every message.

Why. We read letters to choose some for Loretta to answer on video. We use your email address only to send one note saying your letter arrived. It is not added to any mailing list.

How we use them. A letter chosen for a video is written again in new words, with names, ages, places and details changed so no one can tell who wrote it. We use AI tools to help sort letters and to rewrite the ones we answer. Loretta never answers privately.

How long we keep them. Letters arrive at our email service, Resend, which keeps them for up to 30 days. We copy new letters into a private file. We delete the letter as you wrote it 90 days after its video is posted, or after 180 days if we never use it. We keep only the rewritten version.

Never sold, shared or used for training. We never sell or share your letter, and we never use it to train anything.

If you change your mind. Reply to our note with the word PRIVATE, or write to hello@dearloretta.com, and we'll delete your letter.

We don't use letters from anyone under 18, and we delete them.

Emails

If you ask for the free prayer guide, we keep your email address to send you the guide and Loretta's Sunday letter. Every email has a way to unsubscribe, and you can also reply with the word UNSUBSCRIBE. We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Our email list is kept at Resend.

We never sell or share your email address.

Purchases

Payhip handles checkout for the printable journal: the payment, the tax and sending your file. Their privacy policy covers what you give them, and we never see your card number. Payhip tells us your name, your email address and what you bought, so we can help with your order. Amazon sells the paperback, under Amazon's privacy policy.

This website

Cloudflare hosts this website. Like any web host, it handles your IP address and basic details about your browser to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks.

To count visits, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works without cookies and doesn't follow you to other sites. We don't set cookies, we don't show ads, and we don't use tracking pixels.

Links to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook take you to those sites, where their privacy policies apply. We don't embed their players here, so they don't see your visit to this site.

Who else sees your information

Only the services that run Dear Loretta for us: Cloudflare (the website), Resend (email), Payhip (checkout), and the AI tools we use to sort and rewrite letters. They handle it to provide their service to us. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising. We share information with anyone else only when the law requires it.

Children

Dear Loretta is for adults. You must be 18 or older to write a letter or join our email list. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If we learn we have, we delete it.

About Loretta

Loretta is an AI character. Her face and voice are generated. Her answers are for encouragement. They are not counseling, and she is not a pastor, counselor or therapist.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@dearloretta.com.
